MEDICAL POT TO BE DISCUSSED AT TELLURIDE, VAIL

TELLURIDE - Telluride and Vail are the latest Colorado towns wrestling
with how to regulate medical marijuana dispensaries.

Officials at both towns are meeting Monday to discuss zoning rules for
the burgeoning industry. Telluride Mayor Stu Fraser says the town's
elected officials want to solve the matter before elections in November.

Besides zoning, the town will discuss sales taxes for dispensaries and
what signs to allow.

Vail's planning and environmental commission will also discuss zoning
issues before making recommendations to the town council.

Colorado voters approved medical marijuana in 2000, but local
governments have control over zoning decisions on where the
dispensaries can open.
