Epstein POT EDITORIAL 'TOO TIMID' I applaud your seeing the future of regulated and taxed marijuana in the editorial "Marijuana and tax revenue" (Oct. 19), but you are too timid. Instead, I urge you call upon the Massachusetts Legislature to be the first to recognize, as Richard Evans declared in his guest column last week (Evans: Legalize the marijuana legalization discussion", October 11) that "marijuana is ubiquitous in our culture, and ineradicable from it." Therefore, prohibition cannot legitimately be the law, as it does not have the general agreement of the governed. Only reasonable regulation and taxation reduces disobedience to levels consistent with the notion of the consent of the governed. Steven S. Epstein Georgetown - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
