CRESTON RCMP WON'T DEAL WITH DRUG PROBLEMS

To the Editor:

It was quite amusing reading the RCMP quarterly report ("RCMP calls
down in last quarter", http://mapinc.org/url/EU0fOT32
), which was just a bunch of meaningless statistics that don't put a
real face on the crime and drug problem in Creston. My dealings with
Staff Sgt. Gord Stewart of the RCMP and his subordinates have been
less than satisfactory and have never produced any meaningful results.

I had a new home built on Canyon Street in 2007. After a short time
here, it became quite evident that an organized drug house was a few
houses up from mine. I watched in horror how inept the RCMP were in
dealing with these problems.

A letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, a meeting with Stewart and
a meeting with Mayor Ron Toyota, were a complete waste of time and
emotional capital, as nothing was ever done to deal with these
criminals, who are poisoning your children.

After a long period, I finally wised up, finding it was pointless to
worry about the drug house, as neither my wife nor I had children or
grandchildren in Creston who would be poisoned by these drug dealers.
We simply developed a peaceful coexistence with our drug-dealing
neighbours and as long as our persons or property were not threatened,
we were at peace with our neighbours.

We then followed the Ron Toyota example and moved out of Creston
towards the lake, where we have peace and harmony with no drug houses,
just birds and squirrels.

For the poor souls in Creston, whose families and neighbourhoods are
being destroyed by the unfettered drug dealing, may God protect you,
as the prime minister, the RCMP and the mayor of Creston are unable or
unwilling to deal with open and rampant drug activity in your
neighbourhoods.
