Two men forced their way into the house at about 8:55 p.m. to steal marijuana being legally grown by a 53-year-old man with a medical marijuana licence. He was able to get out and call police from a nearby house, but meanwhile the suspects left in a vehicle in an unknown direction. "They did attempt to steal some," Cpl. Lea-Anne Dunlop said, but for some reason decided not to go through with the crime. The suspects were only described as "one larger male, and one smaller male." Police are not releasing the street name to protect the victim from further theft attempts. Dunlop said those with the legal authority to grow marijuana "should be selective about who they share that information with." The police investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
