URGE SENATE TO REJECT MEDICAL MARIJUANA

I am writing this letter to urge you to contact your Illinois
senators about Senate Bill 1381 concerning medical marijuana in
Illinois. The Illinois House has already passed this bill and it
could be voted on in the Senate soon.

We should all be educated from television, newspapers and magazines
about medical marijuana. We know the good and bad. Certainly, we
want to help people with these diseases, but is it worth it when the
same diseases can be treated just as well in other ways?

We will be increasing the possibility crime due to attempts to break
into pharmacies to obtain this drug and perhaps others. Some may lie
about their problems and be given this; others may give their
legally prescribed marijuana to others and those lives ruined.

We have enough problems with alcohol -- which is legal -- without
adding another drug problem.

There are some states that have this law and are finding new
problems every day. We do not want to lead others into anything that
will harm them, their families and we, the people, in our state.

Please let your senator know how you feel about this problem.
