HAS CITY GOTTEN OVER THE POT PARANOIA YET?

There have been a lot of letters lately about police protection being
first and foremost in people's minds. We are coming up on the
sixth-month "reconsider" period for the Redding City Council and its
ridiculous marijuana ordinances.

The ordinances that were written were based on a state law that has
since been challenged and overturned by the California Supreme Court.
These ordinances set up the police department to oversee them, even
though the only problem that has been reported so far was clearly
created by the city for political reasons.

Now that the huge paranoia that existed during the adoption of these
ordinances has been shown to be completely unfounded, I would
strongly recommend that the police department cease being the city
department responsible for overseeing compliance by these collective
organizations. This will free up the police to keep the gangs out of Redding.

Let's allocate resources based on reality rather than a 73-year-old
film that was meant to mislead the public for clear economic gain,
and competitive bias.
