According to both the Globe and Mail; and CTV, no such promise was ever made. In fact, the only promise he makes deals with advocating and condoning civil disobedience and flouting Canadian and U.S. laws; it had nothing to do with any promise to quit "smoking pot." The article from the Globe and Mail (Sept. 10) states, "Before sentencing, Mr. Emery said he regretted his actions. "I admit that I was arrogant ...
