Dear Editor,

Like many of us, Mr. Erbacher is alarmed at the government's
willingness to use our own money to knowingly lie to us [Government
lies and wastes, Sept. 10 Letters, What I find most alarming
is the public's willingness to believe

When I was a child, one would have a lot of difficulty gathering
enough evidence to counter the propaganda. Telling someone to "look it
up for themselves" usually entailed an afternoon at the library.

Today, you can tell people "Look it up" and they can pull out their
phone and google for the information.

All information is available to almost everyone equally, which is
unprecedented in human history.

perfectly willing to ignore the truth and accept the lie - even if
they kind of half-know it is a lie.

Some people may be afraid of their governments. I am afraid of my
fellow citizens.
