Only Mark Sorensen was able to break through to become the second conservative on the council. Come January when Larry Wahl gives up his seat to become a county supervisor, Sorensen will find out what it is like to become the lone soldier fighting a liberal regime. Sorensen should get prepared for a bumpy road ahead but I urge him to fight on as Wahl did to try to do what is right for the full-time, property-tax-paying residents of this community. This council is hell-bent on turning Chico into San Francisco East and it looks like we will have to deal with at least two more years of maximum density housing, moronic art projects, roundabouts, overpriced transient housing projects, and the latest - possibly becoming a marijuana Mecca for California. At the last council meeting I could not believe how many times Andy Holcombe interjected his support for marijuana. He spouted off so many times that even he had to apologize for his gleefulness. Be careful what you wish for. All of those suited, Los Angeles people that spoke at the meeting spouting sugar plum dreams and promising millions of dollars for Chico are not our friends. They want to use our town as a base for a cartel and Holcombe didn't even see it. Chico residents be vigilant of this council. - - Chris Nicodemus, Chico - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
