MEDICAL MARIJUANA RAIDS: FEDS MAKE INEQUITABLE, VIOLENT
POINT

As a local business owner, voter, mother and politically active member
of our community, I find the recent raids of Montana cannabis growers
a violent and inequitable way of pressing a point that the FBI and DEA
have no business making.

Four patients in the U.S. are currently supplied all of their medicine
by the National Institute on Drug Abuse from the federal cannabis farm
at the University of Mississippi. At this level of hypocrisy, how will
Americans have any trust or faith in our own government?

I support nature and its ability to provide natural therapies. I have
seen pictures of the Montana cannabis greenhouses that have been torn
apart. Montanans put out of work overnight. Montana patients put out
of medicine by agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms and Explosives.

Homeland Security was the lead agency involved in the Flathead County
raids. Why is Homeland Security involved? Can we say Homeland Security
and have those words actually mean something? Where is the security in
having a gun pointed at you while you water a plant on its way to
law-abiding Montana citizen, who voted with the majority in 2004?

These raids show a lack of veneration for our people and our choices.
We the family, friends and voters of Initiative 148 stand united in
support of Montanans and the safe, compassionate use of cannabis.
