DON'T CLUSTER DISPENSARIES

Cancer and glaucoma must not be equal-opportunity destroyers, because
the suggested locations for the Stockton marijuana dispensaries all
seem to discriminate against being placed in wealthier
neighborhoods.

Or could it be that those neighborhoods don't want them and have the
clout to keep them out?

Instead, the three proposed sites are in poorer neighborhoods, two of
which are quite close to each other.

These neighborhoods also house narcotics and alcohol-abuse centers.
How considerate to place the dispensaries close to those struggling to
overcome addictions. If they are tempted to return to old habits, they
don't have far to go.

To top it off, these locations are on main arteries for people coming
into town off Highway 99 or Interstate 5 to the arena and ballpark.
That will send a message that Stockton is someplace special, won't
it?

City Council members: Central, south and east Stockton may not have
financial muscle, but we have long memories, and we vote.
