MARIJUANA GROWERS WON'T BE BULLIED

I am completely appalled and outraged at the way our district attorney
is using his bullying tactics on our county supervisors, to try and
jam through this medical marijuana cultivation ordinance, in a way
that has never before been seen in this county. Ever.

They can't change the number of plants (six) because that is already a
state law, so now they're trying to make it a land usage issue. They
want to dictate how much land you need for your garden, and then make
you pay for the privilege of using it.

Every land use issue has taken years of meetings, discussion and
public input before anything is enacted. In this instance, they
plotted in private and gave the public one lousy day notice to
respond. Then, they scheduled it in the middle of the day, in a
deliberate attempt to cut down the amount of people that could show
up. Five hundred people still showed up and demanded that the hearing
be rescheduled. The board looked foolish.

Now it is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. May 4 at the Elks Lodge. Thousands
will show up this time. I hope the supervisors grow a backbone and
remember who they are supposed to serve. The majority rules, not just
some bitter, power-mad bureaucrat, and a few complainers, sniveling
about the smell.
