MAKE IT MEDICAL MARIJUANA, NOT POT

I'm always amazed when The Arizona Republic refers to medical
marijuana as medical pot. Was the law we passed called the Arizona
Medical Marijuana Act or the Arizona Medical Pot Act? Hey, Republic,
why not just call it medical weed, or better yet, medical ganja? Or
maybe medical-pot patients (you know, terminal cancer patients and
grannies suffering from glaucoma, etc.) can all just light up their
medical doobies.

Using slang terms for prescription drugs is a great way to
delegitimize both the prescription drugs and the people who use them.
