PROPOSED CRIME LAWS AIM FOR TRAFFICKERS, NOT USERS

Re: 'Election results likely to kill marijuana program' and 'Cartoon
was accurate description of Harper' ( Daily News, June 1)

Was it not a bit humorous that these two letters should appear in the
same edition containing an item about the incivility of NDP leader
Jack Layton ('Layton least civil MP, claims research study').

I wonder if all left-wingers try to emulate the demeanour of their
godfather. Also notable was that the highest MPs score on the
civility index was held by Conservative public works minister Rona Ambrose.

Meanwhile, if Russell Barth of Nepean were to get off the wacky
tobaccy long enough to read a little, he'd find that proposed
anticrime legislation is not aimed at drug "users."

It is aimed at drug "traffickers," especially those who peddle the
stuff to kids.
