MEDICAL MARIJUANA: PROPOSED REFORMS A TERRIBLE MISTAKE

Response to Missoulian editorial of June 2 ("Medical pot reform
necessary: Voters should not support repeal of new marijuana bill").

Sure, the way the state laws are written could be improved upon. But
to go from something that is working to something that is just about
worthless would result in a huge waste of time, energy and money. You
must be able to see that the reforms that you are advocating, if
enacted as law, could not stand any reasonable test of time.

These proposed reforms will not reduce marijuana usage; it would only
make thousands of good people into criminals. This would be a
terrible mistake. The only ones who could continue their marijuana
medication legally would be those with plenty of money. How many of
us are in that boat?

Have we not learned anything from the well-intentioned stupidity of
Prohibition?
