GANJA FOR SALE ON THE GANGA

Re: Smell Of Ganga In Our Bus Shelters, letter to the editor, June 16.

A letter writer confuses Ganga, the ever fresh eternal spring of
consciousness that flows in our inmost being and is symbolized by the
holy river Ganga flowing from its origin in the Himalayas across the
plains of North India to the sea, with ganja (cannabis), a mild
intoxicant that some years ago I noted being sold in a government shop
in Varanasi, the ancient Hindu holy city on the banks of the Ganga.
