MMMA IS UNDER ATTACK

The Michigan Medical Marijuana Act (MMMA) is under attack by our
Attorney General Bill Schuette, who is leading the marijuana
prohibitionists that lost the medical marijuana debate prior to
enactment of our voter -- approved medical marijuana law. Schuette
says that it is unfair to bring up his former recreational marijuana
use and calls his former marijuana use a prior indiscretion, but he
continues to attack those who choose to self medicate with cannabis in
accordance with the MMMA.

The prohibitionists refuse to accept defeat; they are attempting to
overturn the law by engaging in a misinformation campaign. There are
several proposed bills before our state legislators designed to erode
the rights given to patients, caregiver, and doctors under the MMMA.

A recent poll conducted by Marketing Resource Group of Lansing, two
years after the MMMA's enactment, concluded that 61% of Michigan
citizens still support the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act.

There will be a demonstration at noon Sept. 7 on the steps of the
State Capitol. Thousands of protesters are expected to be there to
voice their opposition to the prohibitionist's attempt to destroy the
voter-approved medical marijuana law. We will not let them overrule
the voter- approved law without a fight.
