DRUG TESTING FOR WELFARE RECIPIENTS?

I take exception to the ACLU's Kary Moss' assertion (Jan. 26), "Don't
treat poor as criminals," when discussing drug testing for welfare
recipients. Why? Can't the poor on welfare be criminals? You mean none
of them commit crimes? Or none of them illegally use their welfare
money to buy and use drugs?

We must do as much as we can to assure that our taxpayers' money is
not going for anything other than the necessities for welfare
recipients and their family to survive -- not for drugs, alcoholic
beverages or gambling.
