ILLEGAL MARIJUANA LEAVES POLICE GARDENING, NOT PROMOTING SAFETY

Re: Neighbours key to safety (Red Coat Corner, Jan. 27)

Cpl. Chris Swain did a good job exposing the risks of cannabis
(marijuana) prohibition due to the fact that unregulated cultivation
of the extremely popular plant creates unsafe neighbourhoods.

It was exactly the same scenario with alcohol prohibition.

Once the relatively safe God-given plant (see the first page of the
Bible) is legalized, law enforcement agencies will not spend any more
time confronting the plant's cultivation than they do confronting
breweries or wineries.

That means safer neighbourhoods when police actually spend time
preventing violent crime rather than gardening.

If you have had enough of cannabis prohibition and wish for safer
communities, rather than calling agencies which lobby to perpetuate
the crime, please call one of the many cannabis activist
organizations in British Columbia to help end the reefer madness.
