IMMORAL POT PROHIBITION LAWS

Re: A Grass Bed Of His Own Making, Matt Gurney. April 20.

Matt Gurney fails to realize that the immoral laws of prohibition
manufacture the lawbreakers who go to jail for cannabis and other
outlawed substances. If these substances -enjoyed or abused by tens of
millions of North Americans - were sold in regulated dosages and at
fair prices, none of the millions of drug war prisoners in jails in
North and South America would be there. Nor would half the prisons.
All we need do is strike down the policy of prohibition that
manufactures these ills and we instantly have a society that is more
stable, more just, more prosperous and vastly safer.

People might be stupid, as Matt Gurney suggests, when they break the
law to make a living with illegal drugs. But the people at the top who
keep the law intact - despite its inevitable tragic consequences to
all society, including those incarcerated and their families and loved
ones - are truly practising an evil agenda, and are fully conscious of
what they are doing.
