U.S. Attorney John Walsh sent letters to the businesses saying they were within 1,000 feet of a school and in violation of federal law. They were given 45 days to close. Today, the U.S. Attorney's Office said a third wave of letters is forthcoming, and that "The U.S. Attorney's Office and the DEA will continue this initiative until all marijuana stores within 1,000 feet of a school are closed." Earlier this year, the first wave of enforcement forced the closure of 23 dispensaries, none of them in Boulder. - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
