On Tuesday, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors voted to enact an ordinance that limits medical marijuana grow operations throughout the county. Some of the provisions include square footage limitations, and 1,000-foot setbacks from schools, churches and official school bus stops. After the vote for approval was made by the board, many who were opposed to the ordinance vociferously expressed outrage at its passage. Patricia Smith, the president of the local chapter of ASA, said that the experience was emotional and that her group would likely pursue litigation. Town hall meetings will be held from 1-3 p.m. and again from 3-5 p.m. - - to accommodate the large number of people who are expected to attend - on Saturday at Anything Green Hydroponics, 17552 Penn Valley Drive, Penn Valley.
