NOT QUITE SINCERE SUPPORT FOR REDUCTION

Editor, the Times:

So, our city council is considering what is called a "harm reduction"
facility for those addicted folk in our area. From what I understand,
they want to have a free needle exchange for addicts.

This would all be supervised by caring nurses. Our Fraser Health
authorities claim this will reduce or eliminate crime in our area.
They call it "harm reduction". The addicts would not have to mug
anyone any more, or break and enter for money to support their
"lifestyle".

Hey, that's a good idea! We could reduce all kinds of crimes this way.
We could set up a special bank for crooks and bank robbers.

For the property or graffiti vandals we could provide false windows,
walls, axes, and spray paints for them to "decorate". For car thieves,
we could supply them with free taxicab rides etc.

And just think - no more crime! Eventually, we might completely
eliminate our police force. Taxpayers wouldn't mind a bit.

Abbotsford could become a paradise for all of B.C. - if only they
would follow my humble suggestions.
