REDUCE THE HARM

In regards to the story entitled, Pot isn't necessarily safe, says
doc (The News, May 11), neither are alcohol and cigarettes, but they are legal.

Examine the harm and cost to society caused by these aforementioned
legal products.

The harm and cost to society overwhelmingly exceeds that of pot.

However, since it can be grown easily it would be a somewhat
difficult job to tax. Consequently, keeping it illegal fosters a
ridiculous sense of caring for society by governments. How inane.
