MEASURE A ISN'T THE ANSWER

While most people familiar with the medicinal cannabis issue will
agree there needs to be some regulation, Measure A is absolutely not
the way to go.

It is a malicious, draconian ordinance that was purposely designed,
with this half-acre cutoff, to prevent just about anyone from being
able to grow their own medicine as allowed under state law. Yes, of
course, there is the problem of (heaven forbid) recreational users
slipping through the cracks, and yes, small-time growers are using
their surplus to (heaven forbid) supplement their income, and some
people don't like the smell in October. But, does this justify more
heavy-handed government intrusion (warrantless searches)? Does it
justify trampling on the rights of the many thousands of patients here
in Butte County who have chosen cannabis as the safer alternative to
toxic pills? I say no. This is a direct attack on the personal
property rights of everyone and must be defeated.

Make no mistake, marijuana is here to stay. Why? Because it works.
Because it has an infinitely enormous potential in the medical field,
while being one of the most benign substances known to man. We should
be embracing and supporting it.

Two more things: 1) With dispensaries now outlawed, drug gangs and
cartels will proliferate, unless people are allowed to grow; and 2) If
Measure A passes it will create an economic hardship that will be felt
by all citizens of Butte County. Vote no on Measure A.
