DONE IN BY THE WAR ON DRUGS

People in civilizations around the world seek to alter their 
consciousness by ingesting a product derived from some crop or other 
- - be it beer from hops, wine from grapes, tobacco, coffee, cocoa 
leaves, khat and so on.

Our government has spent more than $1trillion on its drug war. More 
than half the people incarcerated in federal prisons are there for 
drug offenses.

The definition of insanity is our drug policy.
