Author: Tyler Scionti LEGALIZE, REGULATE POT Let's look at what would happen if marijuana were legalized ("Anti-pot activists want SJC to clear up ballot wording," June 4). The illegal drug trade would be destroyed. Why spend $300 an ounce when I could buy it at the gas station for $100? Next, child use would disappear if there were an established age of 21. Lastly, pot could be taxed. This could further raise the price (making it less practical to buy) and generate revenues. Marijuana shouldn't be used, but its status as an illegal drug hurts the ability of the government to track and control it. - - Tyler Scionti, Sherborn - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
