Federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq straddles a chasm in 
defending, against advice from drug safety experts, the spread of 
generic OxyContin throughout Canada with the statement "politicians 
should not pick and choose which drugs get approved."

Politicians, especially in her party, have no scruples maintaining a 
hold on laws regarding a far less harmful drug with proven medicinal 
purposes: marijuana.
