YOU CAN GAIN INSIGHT FROM QUITTING DRUGS

Re: "Reefer madness?" letter to the editor, Wednesday, Jan. 23.

After spending last evening at another meeting of Narcotics Anonymous,
I find it laughable to read this statement: ". most people who use
these drugs have positive experiences, gain inspiration and insight
and would mostly use them again given the chance to do so."

And so the drug's lure has begun to lead you into addiction.

The truth is, recovering addicts gain insights, positive experiences
and inspiration after they stop doping and live a clean life.

As for the soft-sell, misunderstood cannabis, the fact is the new
product is more potent every year, not to mention highly addictive.

Contrary to the Internet's many reports of it not being addictive, I
can introduce you to "lifers" who just can't shake that crap, and all
of them live in near-poverty.

Or come to the meetings and meet those who have broken the addiction
and listen to their story: the truth.

When entering into mind-altering substances, you need to check in with
yourself.

Why do I need to risk possible entrapment when life has so many other
choices? Try parachuting instead.
