THE DRUG WAR

I agree with John Liu's comments on the failed war on drugs, as do the
vast majority of American citizens. But there is too much profiting,
both legal and illegal, from both illegal drugs and our so-called war
on them. One of the major problems is that incarcerating people has
become a for-profit, private-sector business. More people in jail
means more profit for politically connected companies. The drug war
exists and will continue to exist because those in power want it that
way.
