TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA FAR FROM SENSIBLE The arguments supporting the legalization of marijuana are weak and anything but sensible. Since when does the gradual acceptance of anything harmful make it less harmful? Perhaps lots of people from many walks of life use it. Perhaps lots of people from many walks of life drink and drive, pay for sex or steal. I think the push to legalize marijuana is more about otherwise law-abiding members of the public trying to legitimize their own use, and less about finding solutions to gang violence and addiction. Perhaps the government is acting courageously rather than cowardly in standing its ground. Richard Whalen, Maple Ridge - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
