VEGAS A MORAL HIGH GROUND?

Michelle M. Duncan criticizes Denver for "sinking to the bottom of the
barrel of cities in our nation" due to the publicity regarding legal
sales of marijuana here.

She recalls Denver's glory days as a well-respected, classy town (when
she lived here, of course), and goes on to state that our fair city
has become slimy and "trashed-out."

I find this all richly amusing ("degenerates" from Oregon are going to
lounge on our sidewalks?) and more than a little difficult to swallow,
given that Duncan's jeremiad is issued from the moral high ground of
Las Vegas, from which, apparently, she can see into Denver's golden
past, as well as Oregon's dissolute present.
