ROYAL PURPLE DARES TO HELP

The Order of Royal Purple presented a cheque for $1,500 towards the
Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program that the RCMP will
offer in three Peace Region schools.

"Each dare graduation requires a sponsor, whether that be from a local
business or one of the community groups, like the Order of the Royal
Purple," said constable Rachel Geense. "They've been kind enough to
cover the three classes that will be receiving the D.A.R.E. program
this year."

The 10-week program will be rolling out at three schools in the region
following the March Break. Geense will run the program at Mountain
Christian School in Chetwynd, constable Matthew Gould will be at
Tremblay Elementary in Dawson Creek, and constable Logan Hendrix will
be at Pouce Coupe Elementary.

Order of Royal Purple, chair of the D.A.R.E. program Pat Hunter said
the funds for the donation come primarily from catering events in the
past, and have been saved up over the years.

With each program costing $500, three cheques have been made out and
will be held by the parent group at each individual school, in order
to facilitate the program.
