Martin WHY STOP AT POT? To the editor - I would like to respond to the writer of the Feb. 13 letter to the editor, "Marijuana could help Yakima," regarding the recreational use of marijuana. Just because a vice makes money, doesn't make it moral. If we use the logic that writer uses, the state might as well legalize prostitution. Our community could really benefit financially if Yakima operated legal "cat houses." After all, it makes the "customers" happy, provides income for the ladies and is a real cash cow for the pimps. Think of the profits! Never mind the number of lives it destroys. We can see how legalizing alcoholic consumption stopped its abuse, right? Look at the multi-million dollar profits made by abortion mills (with the blessing of our government)! No victims there, right? We've already seen how the vice of gambling is one of the biggest money makers for the state. Just how far can we go before God Almighty puts a stop to our rebellion? Does the fall of the Roman Empire ring a bell with anyone? Michael J. Martin Yakima - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
