The most enthusiasm for the Conservative government's actions is among street sellers, who now will provide the drug to those who in the past grew their own. If this government had been in charge when alcohol was outlawed and was a major problem, it would've never been legalized. However, the decision to legalize it has enabled governments to obtain significant revenue and control usage. Legalization of marijuana would have the same effect on government revenue. The extra funds could be used to assist the disabled, jobless, and others. It is a shame that federal and provincial governments aid people in other countries with millions and millions of dollars while they have no funds, or very little funds, for Canadians who are homeless, go to bed hungry. Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau indicated he would legalize marijuana, as is happening throughout the U.S, and has been attacked by Conservative leadership. The drug dealers will be enthusiastic about the Conservative decision. Many Canadians would welcome legalization and the resulting revenue that could reduce taxes. Medical users would not have to worry about the increased cost imposed on them by Health Canada. Jim Brady, (a non-user) St. Catharines - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
