Lee Page: D2 OFFICER ARRESTED AFTER POT IS FOUND IN HIS STORAGE CLOSET A San Jose police officer was arrested on suspicion of dealing marijuana that he kept in a storage facility, authorities said Wednesday. Officer Son Vu, 42, was booked Tuesday at Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale. The 20-year department veteran is on paid leave. The investigation began about 4:25 p.m. when police were called to a storage facility on the 400 block of Tully Road by employees who reported finding "an amount of marijuana consistent with possession for sales" in a closet, said San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol. Police determined Vu had rented the closet, Randol said. "We will not tolerate such conduct, especially criminal conduct, and we will hold those responsible for their actions," San Jose Police Chief Larry Esquivel said in a statement. Vu is the third San Jose police officer to be accused of criminal misconduct in the past year. Geoffrey Graves, 38, has been charged with the on-duty rape of a woman who had reported being the victim of domestic abuse. He is also accused of domestic violence for incidents involving an ex-girlfriend. Last month, former police Detective Anthony "Tony" Fregger, who investigated sexual assaults, was sentenced to six months in jail and ordered to perform 500 hours of community service after being convicted of charges that he asked for and received sexually explicit photos of a teenage girl while off duty. - --- MAP posted-by: Matt
