It's confusing then to read that the pope condemns cannabis (marijuana). Humans have been using this relatively safe God-given plant for thousands of years for spiritual and medicinal purposes. So why do the pope and the Catholic Church feel threatened enough by cannabis to believe it's important to continue caging citizens who choose to use the plant? Jesus Christ asks followers to "love one another." But you cannot love someone and cage them at the same time.
