WRONG HEADED

Your July 20 editorial was a vast degree beyond your normal ignorance
regarding cannabis issues. The "plan" for free medicine to low
incomers is part of a new medical cannabis dispensary permit process,
ordinance changes addressing sales, cultivation and enforcement.

Testing dispensary medicine (free or for sale) is required, and
diversion of medicine is enforced with strict penalties, with other
security measures.

Oh yes, about those "reality checks" ... thanks, Chron, I consider
your medical assessment of cannabis to match your amount of
compassion for the poor (references to people "unemployed or in
dead-end jobs"). Reality check, Chronicle: San Francisco dispensaries
voluntarily have been giving away medicine for years to those in need
and income lacking. Indeed, San Francisco has been a shining example
of investigating, accepting, initiating and legislating regulated
access to medicine for qualified patients, where our state government
and other localities (e.g., Los Angeles, San Jose) have lacked public
oversight, failing patients and local citizens both.
