Pasachoff MARIJUANA AND FOOTBALL To the Editor: Re "The N.F.L.'s Absurd Marijuana Policy" (Op-Ed, Sept. 9): The retired tight end Nate Jackson describes the daily pain of football players, and asks that they be allowed to self-medicate with marijuana. I reach a different conclusion: Football is too violent. People should not be allowed to assault one another physically, even on a gridiron in front of tens of thousands. The rest of us shouldn't watch such mayhem. JAY M. PASACHOFF Williamstown, Mass., Sept. 9, 2014 - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
