PERMIT MEDICAL USE OF MARIJUANA

My mother is almost blind from aggressive glaucoma. She has been
treated at many major hospitals. She knew marijuana would help her
lower the pressure in her eyes, but she was afraid to use it because
of its illegality.

My friend was trampled by a horse and is now a chronic pain patient.
She has been to several major hospitals and pain clinics. They
prescribed Oxycodone, Vicodin and other addictive narcotics.
Marijuana is the only drug that allows her to function normally at
work and at home. Marijuana does not have the significant negative
side effects of prescription medicines. I have multiple sclerosis.
Marijuana helps with many symptoms.

When marijuana is used for pain or chronic conditions, one does not
get high. It alleviates the symptoms and does, in fact, have medical
value. Those against the current bill are like the temperance
reformers of the early 20th century. They flood the media with misinformation.
