Lewis FOR LOVE I am writing in response to the article in the Tribune Oct. 11 about Christopher Cano ('Candidate took risks for dad's medical pot,' Metro). Hurray to Chris for having the courage to do something for his father to ease his pain. I also did this in Connecticut for my 16-year-old son, who had Ewing's sarcoma (a form of bone cancer). At that time they had THC in pill form but would not give it to him because he was younger than 18 years of age. After reading an article in a newspaper that stated pot would help, I went out and bought some for him. It helped his nausea, chemo, radiation, pain and lack of appetite. He had gone from 180 pounds to 130. I was lucky that I was never caught, but the risks were well worth it to help him. God chose to take him four years later, but I thank that article for my ability to ease his suffering. Good luck from someone who knows what the decision cost Cano and his family, as I chose to do it for love. Diana C. Lewis CLearwater - --- MAP posted-by: Richard
