MORE REEFER MADNESS FROM TORIES

Re: Chill out, minister, Editorial June 14

Rona Ambrose's comments on the Supreme Court's decision are stupid
and ignorant. She's yet another federal minister in the Harper
government who seems proud of expressing her ignorance.

I have my official card for medical marijuana after (almost) 50 years
of "smoking dope." All it took was to be diagnosed with
osteoarthritis, a painful, crippling disease. I recently had hip
surgery and am looking ahead to both knee replacements. The marijuana
is a godsend; it greatly reduces the pain, helps me hobble through
the day and allows me to cut down on the chemical Percocet.

My doctor at the suggested I use a vaporizer because the medical
profession doesn't promote smoking. I also bake some terrific
brownies - now that it is legal, of course. Perhaps I could send some
to Minister Ambrose although there is no proof that marijuana helps
cure terminal stupidity.
