PARENTS NEED TO LEARN ABOUT NALOXONE

Thank you for your story about the lifesaving drug Naloxone
("Deputies now equipped with anti-overdose tool Naloxone," June 29).
It's also nice to see good press about law enforcement.

I work at A New PATH (Parents for Addiction Treatment & Healing). In
May 2014, we launched our Overdose Prevention & Response Training
program and began training parents how to recognize an opioid
overdose, how to administer Naloxone, and give them a Naloxone kit.
Everyone should know Naloxone is available, legal and it's saving lives.

As word about Naloxone (Narcan) spreads (it will be available in
pharmacies soon), fewer parents will suffer the unbearable loss of a child.
