POT STORE BACK IN BUSINESS

A man arrested for selling medical marijuana last week has re-opened
his Winnipeg store with a different format.

Glenn Price, owner of Your Medical Cannabis Headquarters, said he
re-opened his Main Street store at 11 a.m. Tuesday and will operate a
lounge within it where users can medicate with marijuana.

"I'm not going away. I want to be heard," said Price.

Price also hopes to sell T-shirts and other non-drug-related
items.

Police raided his shop and arrested him on Aug. 4, causing him to shut
down the original business. But Price insists he's not afraid of being
arrested again.

Price has been charged with trafficking a scheduled substance,
possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking,
possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and possession of
a scheduled substance.

"There's nothing in my bail conditions to say I cannot re-open my
store," said Price. "I'm not doing anything wrong."

Price has also launched a petition in support of allowing medical
marijuana dispensaries to operate legally in Winnipeg, as they do in
Vancouver.

Steven Stairs, a medical marijuana user and advocate, said the Price's
latest services are welcomed by many Winnipeggers.

"It's a pretty friendly place to go and medicate, if you're a
patient," said Stairs.

Police have previously noted that Price is not licensed by Health
Canada to sell marijuana, a clearance that legal dispensaries in
Vancouver also lack.

Winnipeg Police said officers were not able to comment on the store
late Tuesday afternoon.
