ICE SCOURGE IS A WAR ALL MUST FIGHT TO SAVE KIDS

I just finished reading the special report on ice addiction ("Wild 
trip into the ice storm", 23/8).

I have seen how this drug has taken hold, destroying families, jobs, 
and everything it touches. It's taking our children from us and 
turning them into people we no longer recognise. They are turning to 
crime, violence, and god only knows what else to get a hit. It's easy 
to say well, they do it because they had a bad childhood. Rubbish!

I know people who had loving parents and fantastic childhoods and are 
so deeply addicted, they feel there's no hope. This drug does not 
discriminate. Black, white, rich, poor. It doesn't matter. It's a 
scary thing as a parent knowing your child could go out as a fine 
human being - and come home an addict. My heart goes out to every 
single parent who has been robbed of the perfect, sweet child they 
once knew. We may not be able to stop this disgusting drug 
completely, but we can try.
