HIGH TIMES PULLS PLUG ON HOLDING CANNABIS CUP IN OREGON

High Times on Monday withdrew its application for a potential
Cannabis Cup location in Milwaukie.

Amanda Younger, events director for High Times, said Tuesday that the
publication decided to withdraw its application for a location in
Milwaukie. She said delays processing the application and logistical
issues related to pulling together the event by early October were
behind the publication's decision.

The High Times Cannabis Cup, now in its 27th year, is the largest
event of its kind, typically featuring well-known musical guests and
vendors of pot products and marijuana-centric businesses. Growers
showcase their best stuff, hoping to snag an award that can confer
celebrity status on their marijuana strain.

Younger said High Times had hoped to hold a scaled-down Cannabis Cup
at 2200 S.E. Mailwell Drive. She estimated the event would
accommodate 5,000 people -- a much smaller turnout than the tens of
thousands of people who attended a High Times Cannabis Cup in Denver this year.

Plans for a Cannabis Cup, announced shortly after Oregon voters said
yes to legal marijuana last fall, have hit several snags. The Oregon
Liquor Control Commission won't allow cannabis consumption at venues
that hold liquor licenses, complicating High Times's effort to pin
down a venue.

Younger said the publication is already looking ahead to a 2016
Cannabis Cup in Oregon. She said the location will likely be on open
land instead of an event venue.

"We are trying to come, and we will continue trying," she said. "The
fight isn't over. We will find a way."
