The plants grown for recreational use are usually done so with higher THC content, and the end result is a psychoactive product. Medical marijuana is often grown with a higher CBD ratio resulting in a product that relieves symptoms and makes people feel well with less - and sometimes no - psychoactive effects. The medical marijuana community ought to hold public seminars similar to the one by Project Bearings. People would learn about CBD, THC, what it is, how it works, which strains work for which disease, rather than starting off by experimenting with little knowledge, or possible misinformation. It would also be helpful for health practitioners to attend seminars led by experts in the area, those who legitimately research, grow, use and sell medical marijuana. I have multiple sclerosis and use CBD and other forms of medical marijuana on a regular basis. It took me six months to get my dose and strains just right. I have reduced my MS drugs by over 50 per cent, and have not felt better since my diagnosis 13 years ago. All of this is why we need marijuana legalized and regulated. People need easy access to this medicine, and those who use it recreationally need to purchase it safely, and securely off the streets and away from children. Congratulations to Project Bearings for hosting this seminar - it's not easy to take this step out! Sandra Martin North Vancouver - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
