Author: Roger Minassian MARJIUANA PROVIDES DRUG THAT KILLS YOUNG MEN'S DREAMS In 2012, Coloradans voted to legalize the use of recreational marijuana and in November of 2015, they voted to use some of the tax revenue from marijuana sales for drug-prevention programs! Does anyone else see a problem with that? Obviously, The Fresno Bee editors don't, so they gave us a two-page spread on all the money to be made from marijuana investments and sales. Thanks for promoting California legalization! Now we can look forward to risking our mellowed lives with even more buzzed drivers. We already use tax money from tobacco sales for anti-smoking campaigns. Why didn't we learn that lesson? Don't legalize anything which you then have to prevent. If money is the only issue journalists and politicians are concerned about, then why don't we legalize prostitution, kidnapping for ransom and killing for body parts? Having worked to lift hundreds of poor youth, I can verify that marijuana is the gateway drug that prostitutes the dreams of these men, kidnaps their hopes and kills their desires for a better life. How about a two-page article on that? Have we learned anything from cocaine for the elite becoming crack for the poor? I think not. Roger Minassian, Fresno - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
