HELPING OR ENABLING?

Re: Toronto Needs Supervised Injection Sites, David McKeown, March

Under the guise of social responsibility, the Liberal government will 
now make taxpayers become enablers for druggies who seek to destroy 
their lives and those of others around them. Instead of helping these 
people rebuild their lives, we will send them down the path of no 
return, all in the name of making sure they have a "safe place" to 
shoot up. The next step will be to provide the actual drugs because 
there is no stopping self-righteous do-gooders.

Clinics like Insite have been rejected by cities across Canada. 
Recent investigations into the Vancouver facility exposed rampant 
waste and corruption by those responsible for its administrative 
oversight. The idealistic bunch of dreamers in Ottawa will now force 
these destructive facilities on communities throughout Canada. The 
disturbing fact revealed in this article is that party goers who are 
not hard-core users use these sites to shoot up as a lark, despite 
the fact workers who are there to provide paraphernalia feel 
uncomfortable colluding in this unwise act.
