They were badgering him about the possibility of legalizing marijuana. And Mr. Trudeau gave a very good reply, probably the smartest thing he ever said. He questioned them by asking them why he should do that. He referred to the fact that one can get a natural high by relishing the pristine beauty of the West Coast Trail. Enough said. Fast forward to 2016 and we have Pierre's son, Justin, advocating the legalization of marijuana. Ravi Zacharias, the eminent Christian apologist, in one of his talks on drastic change in society, quotes G.K. Chesterton (1874-1936) "Don't ever take a fence down until you know the reason it was put up." You know, the Bible is a very relevant and up-to-date book. There is mention of hallucinogenic drugs in Holy Scripture. The word "sorceries" in the Bible comes from the Greek "pharmakeia" and this word is explicitly magical arts, spells, etc. Some scripture verses that refer to sorceries are: Acts. 8:9, Acts 19:19, Galatians 5:20 and Revelation 18:23. Today we take pride in being a very informed society but we would be particularly wise in heeding important and life-changing issues. Gerald Klassen Prince George - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
